On a hot summers day go for a wild swim in the Wharfe by Burnsall or Appletreewick

You can take a day trip to the seaside at Whitby or Morecambe Bay.

Plus there are a variety of water sports (sailing and canoeing), rock climbing, cycling and pony treking you can do in the area too.  For instance you can sail at the Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club at nearby Grimworth Reservoir, rent bikes and ride the beautiful Swale Trail at the Dales Bike Centre, or go pony trekking at Kilsney.
